Residential Applications

Thank you for considering Newman College as a place of residence. To make your application there are a few simple steps to follow.

Undergraduate Students
Newman College is willing to accept only students of the University of Melbourne or the Victorian College of the Arts, although on some occasions it makes exceptions to this rule and may accept a student from RMIT or studying Pharmacy at Monash University. Either apply on-line, or contact the College Secretary (ph 613 9347 5577 or email admissions@newman.unimelb.edu.au) for an application packet to be mailed to you. Remember that for all applications you will need to advise us of your ENTER score (or equivalent) once you have received your results, as well as providing two written references. You will also need to be available for an interview.


Graduate Students
Graduate students are normally invited to join the Senior Common Room of the College.  Applicants should, in the first instance, read the Residential Tutor's Handbook, submit a completed Inter-Collegiate Post-Graduate Application Form, a CV and references to the College (Email: rector@newman.unimelb.edu.au).  Further information on the Senior Common Room will be provided. Remember that for all applications you will need to advise us of your university results once you have received them, as well as providing two referees who can be contacted by the College. You will also need to be available for an interview.
