SPECIAL EVENTS FOR THE MONTH
OUTREACH PROGRAMME
The Arthur Boyd Tapestries of St Francis of Assisi (8 of a series of 20 tapestries) on loan from the National Gallery of Australia will be exhibited in Newman College Chapel Monday 2 November - Monday 4 December 2009 as part of the Newman College Advent Festival.
A public lecture series in association with the exhibition is part of the Academic Centre's outreach program.
- Thursday 5 November, 5.45 - 7.15pm, The Oratory, Newman College - Ursula Betka and Margaret Pont, Saintly Identity in Medieval Art and the Tapestries of Arthur Boyd.
- Thursday 12 November, 5.45 - 7.00pm, The Oratory, Newman College - Sue Walker, Victorian Tapestry Workshop, Australian Art and Tapestry: From Assisi to Parliament House, Canberra.
- Thursday 19 November, 5.45 - 7.15pm, The Frewin Room, St Mary's College, 871 Swanston Street, Parkville - Jacques Dalarun (CNRS, Paris), In the eyes of each other: Clare and Francis of Assisi.
